FT: Tottenham 1-2 Man United. The final whistle goes and a cheer from the United fans to celebrate a hard-fought win over their Premier League top six rivals. It was a worthy pre-season tune-up with plenty of hard challenges and some decent passages of play from both teams.
  • 93'
Lucas Moura had the chance final of the game, but his header was just wide.
  • 92'
Spurs really pushing hard in these final minutes of stoppage time.
  • 90'
Spurs keep possession and try to go for the equaliser, but Son's shot is far too high and wide.
  • 87'
Again Son causing trouble for Man United, particularly Mata. Standout performer for Spurs.
  • 86'
Foyth is doing a very good job at keeping Rashford out of the box.
  • 84'
Marcus Rashford with a great finish and an even better run, but he was clearly offside.
  • 81'
Gomes gives him team the lead after a great assist from Mata. He collected the ball wide on the left, exchanged passes from Juan Mata, advanced past various white shirts into the box. Marcus Rashford is waiting in the middle for a tap-in but Gomes only had one intention and he slides the ball across the keeper and into the far corner.Fantastic finish with a very low angle from the 18-year-old.

    GOAAAAAALLL!!!!!! MANCHESTER UNITED SCORES!
  • 75'
Another water break in Shanghai. it's well in the evening now, but it seems temperatures aren't lowering.
  • 74'
Brilliant clearance by Foyth. The Spurs player clears Dolot's cross which could have given Man U the lead. Juan Foyth dives in with a header and saves his team... A less talented (or lucky?) player could have turned it into an own goal.
  • 73'
A reminder that if the score remains the same, we are headed to penalties.
  • 70'
Marsh on for Taganga on Spurs' side.
  • 68'
United straight back onto the attack with Angel Gomes showing a nice turn of pace after Marcus Rashford played him through. Tried to cut inside and in the end snatched at the shot, which went over.
  • 65'
Harvey White did really well to retrieve the ball near to the byline and hook over a cross that was cleared to Lucas Moura on the edge of the box. He controlled well and fired back a low shot that took a deflection off Luke Shaw to wrongfoot Sergio Romero. Mistake by the Man United goalkeeper...
  • 64'
    GOAAAAALLLLLL!!!! HUGE MISTAKE FROM ROMERO!
  • 62'
White, Erkisen and and Roles on for Tottenham. They replace Dele Alli, Georgiou and Sissoko.
  • 56'
He is replaced by Axel Tuanzebe.
  • 56'
Eric Bailly injured. Such an unlucky player. The Man U player had barely been brought on when he got injured while trying to avoid Son's offside goal. Huge blow for the Ivorian and Solskjaer.
  • 53'
Son makes a solo run and almost scores, but the latest offside flag I have EVER seen stops him in his tracks. Absurdly late.
  • 51'
Heung-min Son just on for Spurs and already breaking in behind the United back line after a long ball over the top. Romero was off his line and the Korean tries to chip him, the shot landing on top of the net.
  • 48'
Lamela's cross fails to pick out a Tottenham player before at the other end Fred miscues a shot well wide.
  • 47'
Rashford, Fred, Dalot, Gomes, Shaw, Mata certainly on. Also Bailly, Lingard, Matic and Romero. Completely new line-up for Man United.
  • 46'
Alderweireld, Foyth, Skipp, Lucas, Son and Lamela replace Kane, Parrott, Winks, Vertonghen, Walker-Peters and Ndombele for Tottenham.
  • 46'
Second half underway! An array of subs coming our way this second half.
  • 45'
HT: Tottenham 0-1 Man United. A great goal by Martial has given Solskjaer's men the deserved lead. Great performance from both teams, but Manchester's Daniel James and Martial have been the standout performers. Tensions are running very high for what is just a preseason game. See you in 15 min!
  • 45'
Pogba volleys it from outside the box after a great run from James! Just wide on the left!
  • 44'
Martial is so nearly in behind but he is penalised for a push on Vertonghen out wide. Spurs have seen a lot more of the ball over the last 10 minutes but United still look more threatening when they get forward.
  • 43'
Some other spectators are saying that the referee's frequent booking is a bit excessive considering this is a preseason game... But the player's competitiveness shows the contrary.

Pereira is booked for a tackle... Necessary.
  • 33'
Tottenham have slowed the pace of the match since the drinks break. Kane is dropping deep to get on the ball, having so far seen little of it inside the opposition area. Can Spurs find a leveller before half-time?
  • 32'
Dan James and Moussa Sissoko came together to shake hands during that little pause in proceedings. May have been at the request of the two managers.
  • 31'
The players taking the opportunity to have a drink in the sweltering temperatures in Shanghai after Harry Kane blazes over a long-range free-kick for Spurs. United are ahead, but Tottenham are really not far behind...
  • 26'
And ANOTHER tackle to Daniel James by Sissoko... How many more until the referee books the Spurs player?
  • 24'
The United players were rightfully annoyed with Sissoko there. Replay shows a stamp. Daniel James is clearly riling up the opposition.
  • 24'
It looks like Tottenham seem to be targetting James a bit... Another Sissoko challenge, but things get heated after Man U's men complain to the referee. Absolutely unnecessary and painful-looking tackle to James. If there was VAR, Sissoko would have been sent out for that.
  • 23'
Another Gazzaniga save! Young seems desperate to get his name on the scoresheet today. Gazzaniga is once again equal to the United skipper's curler as Solskjaer's men close in on a second.
  • 21'
Martial scores his second goal this preseason from a really tight angle! The combination of a tight angle and a really strong hit made it difficult for Gazzaniga to do much about it, but he will no doubt be regretting not making that save.

    GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!
  • 19'
Some stats for you! None of the last 10 meetings between Spurs and Man United in all competitions have ended as a draw, with United winning six of those and Tottenham the other four. Looks like there should be goals coming our way then!
  • 16'
Free kick for Man U as a result! Ashley Young volleys it to the far right corner, but Gazzaniga saves it comfortably.
  • 15'
Sissoko with a nasty tackle to Man U's recent signing Daniel James right outside the box... Should have been booked.
  • 12'
United had a good chance after a great pass by Daniel James, but Martial could not shoot it on target!
  • 11'
Delli Alli is booked! You have to be at the centre of a pretty awful tackle or action to be booked in preseason normally... But it seems this game is an exception because of the palpable rivalry and familiarity from the teams?
  • 11'
United will have to step up if they want to keep their good preseason record...
  • 10'
This time it's Tottenham who go close and David de Gea comes to United's rescue with a low save! It was Sissoko who put the initial challenge in on Pogba, Troy Parrott knocked it wide right into Dele Alli, whose low shot had to be kept out...
  • 7'
A nasty looking challenge by Dele Alli on Aaron Wan-Bissaka wide on the United right. It looks worse than it was, as Alli slipped and went for the slide challenge.
  • 4'
Strong start from Manchester United! Martial goes for goal but Pochettino's man get lucky as the ball hits the post.
  • 3'
Tottenham seeing most of the early possession and a first involvement for Tanguy Ndombele on the edge of the United box. He attempts a one-two but falls to the ground trying to get to the return.
