HT- MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 LIVERPOOL- the champions are ahead going into the interval courtesy of a sublime strike from Sergio Aguero. GOOOOOAALLLLL CITY!!!! AGUERO 1-0!! The hosts score the goal that their first half dominance has deserved. The second wave of a breath-taking attack sees Bernardo Silva roll the ball down the by line to Aguero, who smashes the ball high beyond the reach of Alisson at the front post! City ahead!

CHANCE LIVERPOOL! A chaotic spell of possession for the visitors in City's box sees Salah play Mane forward, but he can only guide a low shot at the base of the far post! A dominant opening 15 minutes from Manchester City has seen them control most of the play. Liverpool started off rather nervously, but have edged into the encounter in the last few moments. Still City in the early ascendancy here.
CHANCE LIVERPOOL- A cross from the left hand side deflects off Fernandinho and Ederson is forced to get down to smother the ball. That would have been a goal very much against the run of play there!
Liverpool full back Robertson is down holding his head here, as he appears to have run into the arm of City's Fernandinho. The visitors could count themselves lucky there, as the referee stopped play for the injury when City had broken into space high up the field.
A bright start from the home side here as they look to take the game to Liverpool early on. City have been pressing high and have already forced a number of mistakes from Liverpool's back line and goalkeeper Alisson.
