FT: Manchester City 1-0 Brighton and Hove Albion. City sneak home at Wembley and the Brighton captain and manager are clrearly not happy with the refereeing, insisting that Walker shouldve been sent off and Knockaert should've had a penalty. The fact remains, City are in the FA Cup Final, and will play the winner of tomorrow's game between Wolves and Watford.
  • 92'
Brighton throw everybody forward and City then have a delightful counter attack, Jesus with a perfect pass into the feet of Raheem Sterling but he can't finish his opportunity and It's still 1-0, this game is done though with the ball in the corner.
  • 90'
3 minutes of stoppage time here at Wembley!
  • 89'
Knockaert goes down there under pressure from Laporte, no penalty though according to the referee.
  • 87'
Danilo has a go from a long way out and it's really not far away, think Ryan would have had it covered though.
  • 85'
Brighton are really knocking on the door now, Izquierdo has a curling effort, but it is a comfortable save for Ederson.
  • 84'
Brighton are putting immene pressure on Manchester City here and are running all over the place, it just feels like there is another goal in this game...
Substitution

Substitution

at Brighton & Hove Albion
  • 82'
Jurgen Locadia is on for Bissouma. Brighton are going for it!
  • 80'
John Stones is on for Ben Mendy.
  • 79'
Sterling has a superb effort blocked well by Dunk, it's a city corner... which is dealt with by Bernardo.
  • 78'
Dunk heads out for a corner... which is dealt with by Brighton once again...
  • 76'
Chris Hughton is clearly not happy with the amount of fouling that has gone on today from City, that last one on Andone was their 10th of the afternoon...
  • 74'
This is a really tense game now, Brighton probably would not have expected to still be in the game 74 minutes in, whilst City would have hoped to have the game wrapped up by now. Well, Brighton are in the game and it's not guaranteed City are not coming back to Wembley in May again just yet.

Yellow card

a Brighton & Hove Albion
  • 72'
Lewis Dunk is booked for a foul on David Silva.
  • 70'
Jahanbakhsh is replaced by Jose Izquierdo, can he inspire a goal in the last 20 minutes?
  • 62'
Brighton change: Florin Andone is on for Glenn Murray.
  • 62'
City change: Fernandinho is on for De Bruyne.
  • 60'
Gundogan hits a fairly tame volley directly at Ryan in the Brighton goal, believe it or not but that is just City's second shot on target this match!
  • 58'
Really poor pass by Ben Mendy and Sterling ends up fouling the ever present Jahanbakhsh, Brighton supporters are bouncing up and down now, and why not? They're well in this game!
  • 53'
CLOSE! VERY VERY CLOSE! Glen Murray almost equalises there for Brighton, but Aymeric Laporte brilliantly clears the ball off the line, that could have been it! Brighton have had 71% possession in the first 10 minutes of the second half!
Card

Yellow card

a Manchester City
  • 50'
Danilo is booked after just 5 minutes for a foul on Jahanbakhsh.
  • 46'
City change: Kyle Walker is subbed for Danilo. He went down injured early did Walker and then completely lost his head, probably a wise decision from Guardiola.
  • 46'
We're back for the Second half!
  • 45'
HT: Manchester City 1-0 Brighton and Hove Albion. City dominated the opening exchanges and took the lead through Jesus, but Brighton grew into that game and were much much better in the latter stages of the first half. The main talking point will remain, should Kyle Walker already have been sent off?
  • 45'
Two minutes of stoppage time here at Wembley...
  • 44'
Bissouma almost gets away there but City's work of the ball is once again phenomenal and in the end nothing is doing for Brighton.
  • 42'
City get forward for yet another opportunity, which this time is easily dealt with by Brighton.
  • 39'
CLOSE! Anthony Knockaert has been brilliant so far and after combining with Bissouma, he has a pop at Ederson's goal. It was close to the top right hand corner but Ederson always had it covered as it drifted safely wide.
  • 37'
Having looked at that again, I think Kyle Walker is very lucky to escape with only a yellow card. It's not particularly threatening by Walker, but it is a clear headbutt and quite possibly should have been a red. He's probably lucky that Jahanbakhsh didn't roll around on the floor and milk it....
  • 34'
Both Jahanbakhsh and Walker are carded there for the skirmish, as Mendy comes forward and earns a corner, which Otamendi blazes over the bar.
  • 32'
There's a coming together there between the commentators nightmare Jahanbakhsh and Kyle Walker. Walker appeared to headbutt the Brighton man their but after checking on VAR there is nothing doing. Play on.
  • 28'
David Silva is brought down by Dale Stephens and City have a freekick.... But it's cleared away by Brighton. Citay then had 3 or 4 more efforts, but Brighton were able to block each and every one of them.
  • 25'
City have a Champions League tie against Tottenham in the week, meaning they will almost certainly need all their squad to be fit, Walker is now back up which is good news for City!
  • 24'
Kyle Walker is down for City and he doesn't look particularly pleased on the Wembley turf, looks like his lower right leg, possibly his ankle, Danilo is warming up and may well be coming on here at Wembley.
  • 22'
Chance at the other end as David Silva looks to put the pass from Raheem Sterling past Matt Ryan in the Brighton goal, he can't quite do that though and it remains 1-0.
  • 20'
Much much better from Brighton, and they've now had a shot! It was a poor one that dragged a long way wide by Pascal Gross, but the build up play was solid by Brighton.
  • 17'
Really good ball in there by Knoackaert too, but no Brighton player can quite get on it and Duffy ends up blasting it wide from 6 yards, it's starting to look more like a football match now though, rather than the formality it was threatening to become...
  • 16'
Brighton finally get forward and after the ball is put in by Knockaert, Otamendi gifts the Seagulls a corner with a misskick.
  • 15'
City once again get forward and get into a great position, this time though, the ball in by Benjamin Mendy is erratic to say the least and almost sets up the highly energetic Anthony Knockaert on the counter attack.
  • 12'
To emphasise that point, City have had 81% possession so far. To say Brighton are clinging on is an understatement....
  • 8'
City have a corner after Duffy puts it out, this is men against boys at the moment!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL! Gabriel Jesus breaks the deadlock after just 4 minutes here at Wembley, a terrific start by Guardiola's men, what can Brighton offer now?
  • 1'
What a start from City who have already earned themselves a corner, any signs of Wembley nerves will have swiftly gone away....
