Thanks for joining me for that tense game at the Etihad - the chess match between Pep and Arteta certainly made a change from recent goal fests! City were extremely dominant early on and good value for their lead when it came. the Gunners came back into towards the end of the first half and kicked on in the second but in the end, City will be delighted with their game management - they killed it at the end and come away with a massive three points!

Arsenal positive yet again after winning back possession. Pepe drives at Ake who makes a good challenge and it ends up going out for a City goal-kick.
City have calmed it all down again and are back dominating possession.
Arsenal are finally enjoying a period of slight dominance - Ederson has been brilliant to maintain that City lead so far.
Aubamayang this time tests Ederson and it's another smart stop by the Brazilian.

That man at it again! Mahrez dances with the ball inside the Arsenal penalty area and beats two men but his shot is just over the bar.
Mahrez definitely the star man of this first half for Manchester City. He's looked so calm on the ball. Foden has been lively too and Sterling looks very fresh and is getting into great positions.
Aguero hooks a ball into the box and appeals for handball against David Luiz are waved away.

His shot is saved by well Leno and Sterling sweeps home the rebound despite pressure from the Arsenal centre-backs.

City break on the counter and Mahrez does brilliantly to work the space and clip it into Aguero who can only head over.

A very open game here, both sides with little forays forward but not more concrete chances as of yet.

Meanwhile, Héctor Bellerin is the only Arsenal starter who played in their last win against the Citizens (Dec. 2015).
This is Aguero's first league game since 22nd June and he hasn't scored in his last six appearances. The last time he started against Arsenal though he did bag a hat-trick!
Pep has just announced that Mendy and Laporte are both out through injury. it explains their absence but will be worrying news for City fans who are becoming far too used to seeing that pair out.
Arsenal have named Thomas Partey on the bench and made three changes from their win against Sheffield. Holding, Xhaka, and Pepe come in for Luiz, Elneny, and Nketiah.
So, the big team news this evening is that Sergio Aguero is back for Manchester City! Ake, Cancelo, and Silva are the other changes from that draw at Leeds. De Bruyne is out as confirmed by Pep yesterday and Laporte, Mendy, and Torres are all benched. Youngster Liam Delap also makes the squad.
