FT: Inter Milan 1-1 Barcelona. Late goals from Malcom and Mauro Icardi see this one end all level, though Barcelona will no doubt be ruing their profligacy in front of goal having created and waster several clear-cut chances over the course of the 90 minutes.
  • 91'
Malcom's ball in from the right has just too much on it for Suarez to make contact in the middle. Agonising.
  • 90'
3 minutes added on. Time for a winner?
  • 88'
Suarez flights the ball to the back post where Vidal meets it, but Handanovic makes a simple claim.

GOAL! INTER! ICARDI! 1-1! It's scruffy, but the hosts won't care! Barca fail to clear and the ball bobbles into the feet of Icardi, who holds off Sergi roberto befroe firing through the legs of Ter Stegen on the turn from six yards.
  • 85'
Inter respond by introducing Lautaro Martinez for Brozovic. Can they find a leveler?

GOAL! BARCELONA! MALCOM! 0-1! An instant impact! Coutinho spins his marker in midfield before spraying the ball out to Malcom on the right. He leads the charge on the counter before creating space for a shot with a wonderful body feint and sliding an effort just underneath Handanovic and into the far corner with his left foot. On the balance of play it's no less than Barca deserve.
  • 81'
A change apiece as Malcom replaces Ousmane Dembele for the visitors, whilst Inter swap Matteo Politano for Antonio Candreva.
  • 79'
Still no goals in this one but is has been an entertaining watch. Meanwhile, Tottenham have just equalised against PSV through Harry Kane in the other game in this group.
  • 76'
Politano is baffled after not being awarded a foul despite seeing his charge forward ended by a shove in the chest by Lenglet.
  • 73'
Barcelona turn to their bench now as Arturo Vidal, who reportedly turned down Inter in the summer, replaces Arthur.
  • 69'
Icardi flicks a header a couple of yards wide from Politano's dinked cross. The hosts could yet snatch a win here.
  • 68'
Rakitic drags an effort harmlessly wide from 25 yards.
  • 67'
CHANCE! Dembele sees another effort parried away by Handanovic, before Suarez rattles the side-netting with the follow-up from a narrow angle. How Barcelona are not ahead is a mystery to me.
  • 65'
CHANCE! Perisic stands up a beautiful cross from the left, but Politano can only head wide from ten yards after racing to get something on it. A decent opening for the hosts.
  • 63'
Inter make the game's first change as Borja Valero replaces Radja Nainggolan.
  • 63'
Another save from Handanovic as he turns Coutinho's effort behind at the near post.
  • 60'
CHANCE! Barca counter at blistering pace and Suarez finds the overlapping Rakitic to his right. The Croatian is all alone with only Handanovic to beat, only for the playmaker to be denied by the Slovenian. Rakitic then crosses for an unmarked Suarez to tuck home, but the ball had already crossed the byline for a corner kick.
  • 58'
Lenglet rises highest to meet the corner, but his header sails harmlessly over the crossbar.
  • 57'
Suarez wants a penalty for handball as his low cross is deflected behind by a sliding Ivan Perisic, but he's made to do with a corner.
  • 53'
Coutinho's left-footed effort after dancing into the box is parried away by Handanovic. Barca are well on top here.
  • 52'
Ter Stegen gathers Perisic's low cross from the left. Suarez is furious as having not been given a foul at the other end as Inter claim the forward dived. The replays are inconclusive.
  • 50'
Handanovic makes a sharp stop to deny Suarez, but the whistle had already gone for a foul by the Uruguayan on Vrsaljko.
  • 49'
Rakitic needs to be careful as he brings down Politano 30 yards out having already been booked, but he is given a reprieve this time.
  • 46'
Barcelona get us back underway here! Will we see a winner in the second half?
  • 45'
HT: Inter Milan 0-0 Barcelona. It's all square at the break here at San Siro, though Barca really ought to be ahead. Luis Suarez missed the target with a couple of very presentable opportunities and when the visitors have found they target they have been kept at bay by Samir Handanovic.

  • 43'
Rakitic is handed the first booking of the game after bringing down Nainggolan.
  • 42'
SAVE! Coutinho's effort deflects perfectly into the path of Suarez on the edge of the box, but his sweetly-struck half-volley is parried away by Handanovic. Never mind Inter v Barca, it's Handanovic v Suarez here!
  • 37'
SAVE! Coutinho attempts to add to his repertoire of long-range goals as he drive in a low effort, but Handanovic makes the stop down to his left.
  • 34'
Sergi Roberto has time and space to pick out a cross from the right, but he makes a mess of his delivery. A waste.
  • 31'
CHANCE! Suarez again! He should do better this time. He tries an ambitious volley and whilst it doesn't come off, Pique directs the ball back into his path, but the Uruguayan can only drag an effort across goal and wide from a narrow angle. Got to be hitting the target there.
  • 30'
An almighty scramble here after Sergi Roberto sees two crosses cleared, with the second being thumped behind by Skriniar with Suarez lurking.
  • 28'
Icardi strays again as he looks to meet Vrsaljko's cross form the right and the flag duly goes up against him.
  • 24'
Rakitic drills in an effort from 25 yards, but it is always fizzing a yard or so wide of Handanovic's right-hand post.
  • 22'
CHANCE! A great effort from Suarez as he brings down Alba's ball with his face and attempts lift an effort over Handanovic and into the far corner with the outside of his right foot, only to see his effort drop narrowly wide of the far post.
  • 19'
CHANCE! Asamoah meets Perisic's low cross as the near post, but he can only side-foot over. A decent opening for the hosts.
  • 15'
Politano slings in a free-kick, but he fails to beat the first man and Barcelona clear.
  • 12'
CHANCE! Handanovic's kick is poor and Rakitic seizes on it in midfielder and picks out Suarez on the edge of the box. He cuts onto his left foot and looks for the far corner, but his effort flies narrowly over the bar. Sloppy from Inter.
  • 11'
Nainggolan's cross from the left is easy for Ter Stegen. Promising signs for the hosts though as Politano was able to charge 40 yards forward on the counter.
  • 9'
Suarez looks to get in down the left and flashes the ball across the face of goal but no one is present in the middle for a tap-in.
  • 7'
Alba's charge into the box is ended as the ball bounces up against his arm. You sense there will be goals in this one.
  • 4'
Inter see off a Barca corner from the left. We could be in for a great game if they can maintain this intensity for the whole 90 minutes!
  • 2'
GREAT SAVE! Dembele comes in onto his left foot from out on the right wing and looks for the far top corner, but Handanovic makes a fine save away to his right. This one has started at breakneck speed!
  • 1'
Inter are on the attack straight away as Vecino's effort is kept out by Ter Stegen after Icardi flicked the ball into his path in the Barca box, but the Argentine was offside in the build-up.

Four changes for the hosts form their 5-0 thumping of Genoa at the weekend as Roberto Gagliardini, Danilo D'Ambrosio, Dalbert and Joao Mario are replaced by Matias Vecino, Radja Nainggolan, Sime Vrsaljko and Kwadwo Asamoah.

INTER: Handanovic; Vrsaljko, Skriniar, De Vrij, Asamoah; Brozovic, Vecino, Nainggolan; Politano, Icardi, Perisic. Subs: Padelli, D'Ambrosio, Miranda, Borja Valero, Candreva, Baldé, Lautaro Martinez.

Just the one change from the late win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend as Ousmane Dembele comes in for Rafinha, but the headline news is that Lionel Messi is left out of the squad completely despite traveling to Milan.

BARCELONA: Ter Stegen; Sergi Robert, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, Arthur, Rakitic; Dembele, Suarez, Coutinho. Subs: Cillessen, Chumi, Semedo, Rafinha, Aleña, Vidal, Malcom.

DID YOU KNOW? Barca have gotten the better of Inter all in all, with four wins from their seven meetings and just one loss - and that was en route to Inter's Champions League success in 2010 as 'I Nerazzurri' won their semi-final clash 3-1 on aggregate.
  • PRVW
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde on Messi's fitness: “He could play, but we’re not sure. He’s showing positive things in training, but we won’t put him in a position to get hurt again. If I don’t talk with him then I can’t say with any certainty, but we certainly won’t take any risks with Leo. We’ll try to be aggressive and play the way we know. Inter will too, so we’ll need to be really attentive. It’s an important game for both of us."
  • PRVW
Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti: "We’ve always said that we can play against any opponent. The fact that the team is doing well, in terms of performance and results, demonstrates that this is the chance to see if we really can compete against any side. Barcelona represents the highest level of difficulty that there is."
  • PRVW
Barcelona are currently top of the group with three wins from three and will ensure their place in the knockout stages with a win, though any result could be enough depending on the result of the PSV v Tottenham game. Similarly, a win could be enough for Inter to secure safe passage, whilst the Italians would move joint top alongside Barca with a victory.
  • PRVW
Barcelona won the reverse fixture at Camp Nou 2-0 a fortnight ago, but this game looks likely to be key in deciding who emerges as the winner of Group B, with the pair currently occupying first and second.
