FT: HUDDERSFIELD 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY-- a quick fire double courtesy of Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané at the beginning of the second half sealed the spoils for City. A valiant effort from Huddersfield, who continued to perservere in spite of the momentous task that lay ahead of them. However the superior quality within the City ranks told on the afternoon, as Guardiola's men continue to keep pace with leaders Liverpool at the summit.
92'
CHANCE HUDDERSFIELD- the hosts manage to work the ball into the feet of Mounie, but the Frenchman can only turn and prod his shot wide! A great chance to at least grab a consolation goal there!

CHANGE HUDDERSFIELD- Pritchard replaces Bacuna in midfield for the hosts.
62'
Into the last half hour of the game, and that quick-fire City double has effectively ended the game as a contest. Huddersfield remain resolute in their eagerness to attack, but given their lack of fire power, it will almost take a miracle for them to take anything from the match.
58'
CHANGE HUDDERSFIELD- The hosts make an offensive change, bringing off Diakhaby and replacing him with Mounie.
58'
CHANGE CITY- Fernandinho makes way for David Silva in the middle of the park.
56'
GOOAAAALLL CITY!! 0-3!! City rush their hosts into a mistake in possession, the ball is then chipped into Aguero, who chests the ball into the path of Sane, and the German slides the ball home past the advancing Lossl! City three up and surely that's the game almost sealed now.
54'
GOOOAAAALLL CITY!! 0-2!! Great patient build up play from the visitors, sees Sane released down the wing. He lashes a cross into the six yard box and Raheem Sterling is there to nod into an empty net! City have a two goal cushion in this one!
50'
YELLOW CARD CITY- Fernandinho goes into the book for a foul on Bacuna.
47'
CORNER CITY- An early chance for a set piece opportunity for the visitors...
46'
And we are back underway here at the John Smith's stadium, let's hope for another good half of football.
45'
HT: HUDDERSFIELD 0-1MANCHESTER CITY- The champions lead at the break thanks to a rather kind deflection on a Danilo long range effort. Nevertheless, they could have been further in front had they been awarded what seemed to be a clear penalty for a lunge on Sterling in the box. However in spite of all their dominance, City have been frusrated by their hosts, whom themselves will be encouraged by the narrow score line at the break.
45'
CHANCE CITY- Gundogan breaks into the box, and is played in on goal by Walker, but the home defence cover the danger and the German is forced to shoot wide of the target.
43'
Again the match has fallen into the pattern of City dominating the ball and Huddersfield guarding the perimeter of their penalty area. Its seems as though the hosts are keen to keep the scores tight until the interval, in order to ensure that they retain a hope of taking a vital point or three from this tough test.
39'
CHANCE CITY- A wonderful chipped pass from Fernandinho is controlled in mid air by Gundogan, but the German was off balance as he tried to get a shot away, and was unable to hit the target.
37'
FREE KICK CITY- the visitors have a chance to flood the penalty area here.
33'
Just around ten minutes until the interval here, with City just wrangling back control of the play in the last few minutes. Still, the game is finely poised at the moment, with either side having a good chance at taking the spoils.
29'
YELLOW CARD HUDDERSFIELD- Bacuna goes into the book for a late lunge on Laporte. The City defender will need treatment after the challenge.
28'
CHANCE HUDDERSFIELD- Kongolo takes aim on the volley from the edge of the box, but he is unable to get sufficient power on the shot and Ederson catches with ease.
27'
FREE KICK HUDDERSFIELD- Another chance to float the ball into the box for the hosts...
27'
YELLOW CARD CITY- Walker goes into the book for a late sliding tackle on Lowe.
26'
FREE KICK HUDDERSFIELD- The hosts have a chance to load the box here...
23'
CHANCE CITY- Fernandinho reaches the ball first, but his misdirected header flies wide of the net. What a chance to at least test the hosts' net there!
22'
CORNER CITY- can they increase their lead here?
18'
GOOOAAALLLL CITY!! 0-1! Full back Danilo takes aim from range, and rather fortuitously his shot is deflected past the Huddersfield stopper by one of his own defenders. City will feel like justice has been served after not being awarded a penalty earlier in the game, but nevertheless an unfortunate incident for the hosts. City lead!
13'
PENALTY CLAIM CITY- De Bruyne plays Sterling into the channel and the Englishman races into the box before being bundled down by 'Terrriers' defender Kongolo, but the referee waves play on. Sterling can count himself unlucky there, as he appeared to receive a clear foul there.
8'
CHANCE HUDDERSFIELD- A wuick passing move down the left hand side, followed by a dangerous cross, find Diakhaby in the middle of the box. Yet the striker misjudges the flight of the ball and cannot direct his header on target.
5'
Nothing much in the way of chances so far in this one, as City are predictably controlling the lion's share of possession, while hosts Huddersfield look content to sit back and contain the champions' threat.
3'
CHANCE CITY- Aguero plays a one-two with Sterling to get into the box, but he is forced wide , and his shot from the angle is blocked by Lossl, and deflects out of play off the Argentine.
