Chelsea V Lille - As it happened.
As always, thank you for joining us tonight! See you tomorrow for some more Champions League action!
Chelsea 2-1 Lille. Chelsea's win means they finish second in Group H on 11 points, just behind Valencia who held out for the 1-0 win over Ajax in Amsterdam. Ajax finish third on 10 points and drop into the Europa League, while Lille's European adventure is over for this season.
Hudson-Odoi gets a shot away but the ball sails high over Maignan's crossbar.
A reminder that an equaliser would send Chelsea out...
Renato Sanches gets a chance to equalise!
Five minutes of added time!
It's getting a little nervy here, but Chelsea should still be confident of seeing this out. Batshuayi takes the ball on the turn in the box but his shot rattles against a Lille defender.
Willian's experience is proving useful for Chelsea now. The Brazilian winger makes his way towards goal but can't shake off the presence of Soumare.
Araujo goes off injured and he's replaced by Renato Sanches. Chelsea also make a change, with Mason Mount replacing Kovacic.
Lille suddenly turn it on, and it's a former Chelsea man in Loic Remy who has halved the deficit! Bamba gets down the left flank, squares for Remy, who strikes it first-time from 12 yards. He hits it superbly, left-footed, and it hits the underside of the bar and in. Game on!
Araujo goes for a dangerous run into Chelsea's area but he's eventually knocked down by Zouma.
Decent strike from Kovacic but he is denied by Lille's freshly replaced goalkeeper.
Mike Maignan, the Lille goalkeeper, is also on his way off, who has been struggling with a potentially Zouma-related injury. Leo César comes on.
Tammy Abraham is replaced by Michy Batshuayi. Stamford bridge gives him a standing ovation.
Zouma is deliberately blocked by Xeka, who earns himself a booking.
Lille substitution. Bamba comes on to replace Maia, who's been pretty ineffectual.
Chelsea make their first substitution, taking off Christian Pulisic and bringing on Callum Hudson-Odoi. The home fans give both departing and arriving players a standing ovation.
Nearly a third for Chelsea! Abraham can’t quite conjure a clear shooting chance so passes back to Azpilicueta, who doesn’t have a clear shooting chance because Abraham’s in his way.
Chelsea a breezing through. It's actually a bit boring to see them get chance after chance so comfortably.
Kante has been everywhere tonight. The Frenchman has been running his socks off and creating frequent chances for his team. What a player.
A quick two chances for Chelsea! Pulisic receives a pass in the box and launches a surface-to-air missile towards goal, only for Maignan to push it away! Willian arrives to follow up but his poor attempt is straight at the Lille keeper. Maignan claims Emerson's cross to take the pressure off for now.
Back underway here in Stamford Bridge!
HT: Chelsea 2-1 Lille. So far, so good for Chelsea, who look on track to progress to the last 16. Chelsea took the lead in the opening 20 minutes through Abraham's flick and doubled it shortly after with a header from Azpilicueta. The home side have been well on top. Lille have shown precious little so far.
Zouma is clumsy in challenging Maignan for the corner, leaving Lille's keeper down on the deck requiring treatment. Zouma's booked for the challenge.
Kante shows great determination to get on the end of a one-two with Willian. Gabriel arrives just in time to block his cross and put it out for a corner. The Frenchman's effort gets applauded by the Chelsea supporters.
Willian wins a foul down the right as Gabriel is too forceful in the challenge. Emerson crosses in from the free-kick and Remy heads it out for a Chelsea corner.
Lille's Turkish right-back Celik earns himself a booking for a poor tackle on Kovacic near the touchline.
GOAL! 2-0 CHELSEA! Chelsea's captain Azpilicueta gets on the end of Emerson's corner, making a free run towards the near post to arrow a header past Maignan. That's his second in six games this campaign.
Emerson picks it up on the left, turns onto his right and has a go, ambitiously, but it's straight into Maignan's hands.
Lille have their first shot. Pied takes it about 40 years out, but it's far off target.
As it stands, Chelsea are top of Group H, ahead of Ajax because of their head-to-head record.
Chelsea take the lead, and Lille had it coming. Kante chests down to Pulisic, who carries the ball to the edge of the area before finding Willian to his right. The Brazilian bursts to the byline and pulls the ball back. It takes a handy deflection off Gabriel’s thigh and Abraham is left with a tap-in!
GOAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!! TAMMY ABRAHAM!!!!
Lampard looks on nervously towards the pitch. Chelsea are getting the better chances at the moment.
And saved! Kante’s cross from the right skews off Abraham and runs to Emerson, at the edge of the area, whose low shot is hard enough, but close enough to Maignan for him to beat it away.
The players are SOAKED. Imagine the fans are too. The weather is seriously affecting visibility now.
Shot! Nice control by Abraham, who holds up a long ball and waits for Pulisic, who carries it into the area before dragging a pretty weak left-footer wide.
Kante bustles down the left flank under pressure from Djalo. The 19-year-old defender gets a foot to the ball and puts it out for Chelsea's first corner of the game.
Chelsea are stroking the ball around nicely in these opening minutes. Rudiger launches a long ball forward for Abraham. The English striker runs onto it but chests it straight to Maignan in the Lille goal.
And we're off!
If Chelsea qualify for the knockout stages, Frank Lampard will be the first English manager to progress a team from the Champions League group stage since Harry Redknapp did it with Spurs in 2010-11. However, Chelsea are winless in their last five Champions League games at Stamford Bridge, their longest ever run in the competition. Can they break their historic duck?
Having played only 45 minutes of first-team football this season, Antonio Rudiger is back in Chelsea's starting line-up.
So, one-time Chelsea striker Loic Remy starts for Lille tonight. The Frenchman gets the nod ahead of Victor Osimhen, Lille's top scorer this season, and he's not the only familiar name in their squad. There's a place on the bench for Renato Sanches, who had a spell at Swansea City in 2017/18.
It’s a vicious evening in London: wild, wet and windy, if not particularly cold. The conditions are the first opponents Chelsea will need to beat.
Lille starting XI: Maignan, Celik, Gabriel, Djalo, Pied, Soumare, Thiago Maia, Yazici, Xeka, Luiz Araujo, Remy.
Chelsea starting XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Zouma, Emerson Palmieri, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Willian, Abraham, Pulisic.
Join us for live coverage of this huge Champions League match! A win for Chelsea will see them in the last 16 no matter the score in Amsterdam.
