GOAL! BRAZIL! COUTINHO! 1-0! The breakthrough! What a huge goal this could be for Brazil! Firmino heads Marcelo's cross from the left down and Coutinho races onto it like a steam train to prod an effort through the legs of Keylor Navas and into the back of the net!
  • 90'
SIX minutes added on here. It only takes a second to score a goal.
  • 89'
The game management is in full effect now as Costa Rica attempt to kill the game off.
  • 87'
Casemiro's turn to try his luck with a well-struck low drive from 25 yards but Navas is not to be beaten today.
  • 85'
Coutinho has a go from range but Navas is equal to it once again! There's going to be another big chance in this game (there always is), but will the team it falls to be able to take it?

Toys, pram. You know the rest. Neymar is adjudged to have fouled his man and responds by punching the ball into the turf. He's not a happy bunny.
  • 78'
Penalty? NO! Overruled! The Ticos breathe again! Neymar collapses like a pack of cards after Gonzalez has the temerity to breath on him. The referee points to the spot but after a quick look at the monitors he changes his mind. Justice!
  • 76'
Another effort from Neymar, another block from Costa Rica.
  • 72'
CHANCE! Neymar usually sticks these away! Gamboa presents the ball to Neymar 25 yards out and he skips away from a challenge before curling inches wide of the top corner from just outside the box. Navas didn't move! What a chance!
  • 70'
Casemiro meets Neymar's corner from the right but his header is tame and Navas gathers it.
  • 69'
Roberto Firmino replaces Paulinho for Brazil.
  • 68'
Costa Rica are very much still in the game as long as the score remains as it is and they threaten as Borges heads the ball back across goal, but no one can get on the end of it.
  • 64'
Neymar has a go from 20 yards with his swinger and Navas makes a bit of a meal of it before gathering at the second attempt.
  • 61'
Brazil counter but Neymar can't quite find Costa, before Jesus sees an effort blocked away after some dazzling step-overs.
  • 60'
Bolañnos has the chance to swing in a corner for Costa Rica but it is poor and fails to beat the first man. Set-pieces could be key for 'Los Ticos' and the delivery needs to be a lot better than that.
  • 58'
Navas denies Coutinho again! The 'Seleçao' are laying siege to the Costa Rican goal here!
  • 56'
CHANCE! Neymar meets a cutback from the right unmarked and he really ought to score but he fires over with a little help from the fingertips of Navas.
  • 55'
Costa Rica make a change of their own as Ureña is replaced by Bolaños.
  • 53'
Brazil have improved tenfold since the break, they're hammering at the door now.
  • 49'
CHANCE! The ball is worked back to Coutinho on the edge of the box but his effort is somehow deflected behind.
  • 49'
OFF THE BAR! Jesus meets Fagner's cross from the right with a towering header but his effort crashes back off the upright with Navas beaten.
  • 48'
CHANCE! Brazil finally put together a flowing passing move and whilst Jesus' pass is just too long for Paulinho, Navas can't clear fully and the ball is clipped back into the box, only for Neymar to foul the Real Madrid goalkeeper and end the pressure.
  • 46'
Brazil get us back underway here. Douglas Costa has replaced Willian at the break for the 'Seleçao'.
  • 45'
HT: Brazil 0-0 Costa Rica. Not the most entertaining 45 minutes of football you will see this summer. Costa Rica have defended well and nullified Brazil, who themselves have been limited to speculative efforts. Gabriel Jesus had a goal rightly chalked off for offside, whilst Celso Borges wasted a very presentable opening for the Central Americans.
  • 45'
Guzman swings in a free-kick from the right but it sails over everyone's head in the middle.
  • 45'
Neymar goes down in the box with the referee immediately waving play on. Like any good defender Gamboa is screaming for a yellow card for simulation.
  • 45'
    1 minute added on.
  • 43'
More good defending from Thiago Silva as Ureña looks to have the run on him in the box, only for the experienced defender to recover.
  • 42'
Marcelo calls club team-mate Keylor Navas into a save this time as he tries to sneak an effort inside the near post from the edge of the box, but the Costa Rican is equal to it.
  • 39'
Brazil want a penalty after a tangle in the box on a corner, but the man in the middle waves play on.
  • 38'
Costa Rica look to launch a counter but the ball for Ureña is too strong and it runs out for a throw-in.
  • 34'
Willian cuts inside onto his left foot and blazes over. He had plenty of men in the box there, a cross may well have been the better option.
  • 32'
Great defending from Oviedo! Neymar makes a mug of his man down the left before dinking a cross to the far post for Jesus, but Oviedo gets there in front of his man to head the ball away.
  • 30'
Coutinho cuts in from the left and shoots form a similar position to against Switzerland but this one flashes wide. They're not afraid to pull the trigger the Brazilians.
  • 29'
Marcelo lashes a low drive across goal but it drifts a couple of yards wide of Keylor Navas' right-hand post.
  • 27'
Navas is nice and alert to race off his line and challenge Neymar as the Samba star threatened to get in behind.
  • 26'
Jesus has the ball in the net but it won't count. He is clearly a yard offside as he controls Marcelo's attempted shot before lashing an effort into the roof of the net. No need for VAR on that one.
  • 23'
Ureña just sets off a smidge too early as he looks to get in behind and the linesman raises the flag against him.
  • 22'
Another free-kick for Brazil but they're all being committed too far out to allow the likes of Neymar and Coutinho to rain in shots on goal.
  • 18'
Neymar leaves Gamboa for dead down the left before he is dragged down. That will be in interesting battle this afternoon you sense.
  • 15'
Another foray forward from Costa Rica ends as Ureña's effort is blocked away. Costa Rica are making Brazil know they've got a game on their hands here.
  • 13'
CHANCE! Oh what a chance for Costa Rica! Gamboa gets to the byline down the right and pulls the ball back for Celso Borges, but he can only side-foot wide on the run from just inside the box. You've got to be hitting the target there!
  • 12'
Casemiro appears to have picked up a nosebleed an thus kicks the ball into touch so he can go and deal with it.
  • 10'
Neymar does opt to cross but Costa Rica head to safety.
  • 9'
Willian is felled right on the edge of the box by Guzman. It's a bit wide for a shot you would say but Neymar is over it regardless.
  • 7'
An early effort from the minnows now as Guzman fires over from 25 yards.
  • 5'
Ureña looks to chase down a long ball but captain for the day Thiago Silva deals with it comfortably.
  • 4'
Brazil nick the ball on the edge of the Costa Rica box but Coutinho smashes his effort over the bar as he looks to recreate his stunner against Switzerland.
  • 2'
Marcelo surrenders possession very cheaply with an errant pass, but Brazil soon reclaim the ball.
  • 1'
Costa Rica get us underway here!

Costa Rica's chances of getting something out of this one will largely depend on how they deal with Neymar, but manager Oscar Ramirez wouldn't reveal his tactics during his pre-match press conference, saying only that his side have a plan.

Brazil will be donning their blue away kit today:
  • PRVW
We've already seen a number of shocks so far in the tournament, but a win for Costa Rica today may well top them all.

Here is the confirmation of those two sides from our friends over at FIFA:
  • PRVW
Just the once change for Costa Rica as well as Sunderland's Bryan Oviedo replaces Frnacisco Calvo at left wing-back.
  • PRVW
Costa Rica: Nacas; Acosta, Gonzalez, Duarte; Gamboa, Borges, Guzman; Oviedo; Venegas, Ruiz; Ureña.
  • PRVW
So, it's as we expected for Brazil, with Fagner for the injured Danilo the only change from the side that drew with Switzerland in their opener.
  • PRVW
Brazil: Alisson; Fabgern, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Marcelo; Casemiro, Paulinho, Coutinho; Willian, Jesus, Neymar.

Brazil have already arrived here ahead of this one:
  • PRVW
Costa Rica have only defeated South American opposition once at the World Cup, beating Uruguay 3-1 in 2014.
  • PRVW
Brazil are winless in three World Cup matches, their worst run since June 1978.
  • PRVW
Brazil have won nine of their last 10 games against Costa Rica, with the only blot on their copybook a friendly defeat back in March 1960.
  • PRVW
Meanwhile Oscar Ramirez insisted Costa Rica would not just kick Neymar off the pitch: "Neymar is a very skilled player and it is true we have seen how people have tried to stop him a little aggressively. We have our own strategy and we'll see what happens. We'll see – maybe we'll cover him with two men – we'll see. But, of course, we do not want to see any unfair attacks against him. My players know what to do."
  • PRVW
Brazil boss Tite was forced to deny he was putting Neymar's health at risk pre-match: "He would play [if this was not the World Cup]. It's not a sacrifice. It's an evolutionary process. You just speed up the steps. We want to win. It's a World Cup but the coach is not going to pay with a player's health and be dishonest to win. That's a price that is too high to pay. You're going to pay the price if you're nervous and don't think about the game but there is no compromise on those values."
  • PRVW
Costa Rica could make changes up front as they look to add creativity and goals in the final third after scoring just once in their last four World Cup games, with Arsenal's Joel Campbell among their options from the bench.
  • PRVW
Brazil are expected to make just the one change for this one, with Fagner coming in for Danilo at right-back after the Manchester City man suffered a hip injury.
  • PRVW
Serbia currently top Group E after they defeated Costa Rica 1-0 first up thanks to an Aleksandr Kolarov free-kick, whilst Brazil were held to a frustrating draw against Switzerland.
