The LFP confirmed that all matches in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 will be played behind closed doors until the 15th April to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

The coronavirus continues to affect the football world, The LFP confirmed on Tuesday that both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches will play all their matches, until the 15th April, with no fans.

The measure comes in a country shaken by the Covid-19. 30 people have died for now in France and more than a thousand people have tested positive for the coronavirus as of Tuesday.

All this has been confirmed after the French Government's ministerial decree of this Tuesday, 10th March 2020. That is why games will be played without fans in France for the next month.

Ligue 1 isn't the only competition that will be played behind closed doors in the next few days. La Liga confirmed that all La Liga and Segunda Divsión matches will be played behind closed doors for the next two weeks minimum.

Added to all of this is the cancellation of matches in Italy after the government declared a quarantine in the country, from the north, where there were most cases, to the south.

"These closed-door matches will be defined this Wednesday in the office of the LFP Board of Directors", the statement where this measure was made public said.
