Lighting a flare at the Super Cup comes with jail sentence

The use of flares in Moroccan football fields is penalized from now on with prison terms of between two and five years, as stated in the last 'Official Gazette.'

Thanks to a legal vacuum, the flares were authorized in Moroccan stadiums, where they frequently create huge clouds of smoke that hinder visibility. 

The cases of accidents and hot flashes due to the abuse of flares,which are very popular among organized amateur groups, are equally abundant.

This is a last ditch measure to try to put some order in the bustling Moroccan stadiums. 

There are frequent brawls between fans and confrontations with the police.

The violence often also moves on into the neighborhoods surrounding the stadiums. 

The fights do not diminish in spite of the numerous measures of punishment imposed by the authorities against the clubs that tolerate this sort of behaviour.
