Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich. This is according to Hasan Salihamidzic, the sporting director of the Bavarian club.
"I spoke to Lewan. During the conversation he told me he does not want to accept our extension offer and that he'd like to leave the club", confirmed the ex player to 'Sky Sports' Germany.
Salihamidzic explained that Lewandowski "would like to try something new", but the club's stance "hasn't changed". "He is contracted until 30th June 2023. This is a fact", he added.
The Bosnian was questioned on what will happen now with the Polish forward and what caused the player to change his mind and decide to leave the club.
"I'm not worring about this because our position has always been clear", said Salihamidzic, who also affirmed that there have been no conversations with Barcelona.
Although Bayern have not spoken to 'Los Azulgranas', it seems as though there have been conversations between the Catalan club and Lewandowski's personal team. According to 'Sport1', the Pole has reached a verbal agreement with Barcelona to sign for the following three seasons.
With Haaland going to Manchester City, and Mbappe deciding between PSG and Madrid, Robert Lewandowski's exit leaves Bayern Munich with a headache in terms of finding a new talisman up front.
