Robert Lewandowski is not hiding anything. He has said publically that he wants to leave for Barca. A direct message to Bayern who, at the moment, have rejected 'Los Azulgranas's' attempts to sign him.
'Sport' reports that Lewandowski has had his mind made up for months. At first, Bayern were unsure whether or not to renew his contract. In April, the club then decided that they wanted him to stay. However, by that time, it was already too late.
From April up until now, Bayern have been trying to convince the Pole to stay. According to the aforementioned source, the Bavarian outfit promised him that they would form a team with enough quality to fight for the Champions League. That they would sign Mane, Mazraoui and Gravenberch, amongst others.
Bayern's words fell on deaf ears. By then, Lewandowski had already decided that his period at Bayern had come to an end and it was time to start listening to offers. Knowing that Barcelona were interested in him, the Catalan club quickly became his desired destination.
The last time Lewandowski met with his agent, Pini Zahavi, he made it clear that would not listen to any more offers from Bayern nor would he reconsider his situation. His time in Munich has finished and he wants to start a new adventure at the Camp Nou.
'Mundo Deportivo' has added that the relationship between Lewandowski and the club has deteriorated in the last few years. This is why the striker has decided to cut ties.
