Bayern Munich have confirmed Robert Lewandowski will be sidelined for a month after suffering a knee injury against Chelsea.
It will no doubt be a hard blow for the Polish striker, who's been having an exceptional season, topping the goalscoring charts in both the Champions League and the Bundesliga. At 31 years old, he has scored an impressive 39 goals in 33 official games this season.
He is currently second in the Golden Boot rankings, just behind Ciro Immobile, who only overtakes him by two goals despite his outstanding career back in Italy.
Lewandowski scored and gave Serge Gnabry two assists in Bayern Munich's 0-3 thumping of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, in what is now his last goal for at least a month.
The medical report published by the German club reads: "Robert Lewandowski broke the tibia in his left knee joint during yesterday's 3-0 victory at Chelsea. The striker will be out for around four weeks."
