The fight to become the Bundesliga's top scorer this season would have been amazing had Erling Haaland joined Dortmund in August rather than January. That said, they are both constantly scoring. The Norwegian scored the league's first goal after the coronavirus break and Lewandowski also got his name on the scoresheet after the unscheduled stoppage.
The Pole scored Bayern's first goal after the break, against Union Berlin. He did so from the penalty spot.
After a silly penalty given away by Subotic on Goretzka, Lewandowski stepped up and beat the Union Berlin keeper.
It was his 26th goal of the season to stretch his lead at the top of the Bundesliga golden boot standings.
