Leverkusen step up interest in Brentford keeper Mark Flekken

The 31-year-old, currently Brentford's first-choice keeper, has emerged as one of three concrete targets for the Bundesliga side, with talks already taking place between the player and the German club.
Leverkusen are keen to add experience and quality to their goalkeeping department. Flekken, under contract with Brentford until 2027, is valued at around €15 million. However, while Leverkusen are serious about a deal, they are unlikely to meet any inflated demands for the player's services.
Flekken himself is understood to be open to a move, with the goalkeeper reportedly considering a significant step forward in his career this summer.
However, the Germans will face competition for his signature as several English clubs are also exploring the possibility of signing Brentford's number one. Interest from the Premier League could complicate their plans to bring him to Germany.
Although talks between Leverkusen and Flekken have been ongoing since April, the situation remains fluid. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining where the experienced Dutchman will be playing his football next season, with both Leverkusen and rival English clubs hoping to secure his services.
