Leicester wonderkid becomes second youngest player to debut in Premier League

The 2015/16 Premier League miracle is now a distant memory for Leicester City. The Foxes were thrashed 3-0 by Newcastle on Monday, putting them 15 points away from safety, and everso closer to a Championship return on the tenth anniversary of their first and only league title.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's men have registered eight consecutive defeats without scoring, marking a gloomy period for the midlands club. But amid the ongoing struggles, there was one bright note from last night's defeat at the King Power Stadium.
With the loss practically sealed within the first half, the Dutch manager replaced Bilal El Khannouss in the 74th minute, throwing on Jeremy Monga for his Premier League debut. At 15 years and 271 days, Monga became the second youngest player to play in the English top-flight.
He is only behind Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri, who made his first appearance off the bench on September 2022 at age of 15 years and 181 days - just three months younger than the Leicester City wonderkid. But Monga's substitution was also a big talking point for another reason.
The 15-year-old forward made headlines as he debuted without Leicester's main sponsor, 'BC GAME', on his shirt. The reason lies is due to the Premier League's regulations, which forbid footballers of minor ages to play with a logos of betting companies and platforms displayed on their kit.
Van Nistelrooy hailed Monga after the game as he said: "He showed glimpses of his quality at such a young age. Well done to him and his family for this great moment." Reports from England inform that the likes of Man United, Man City and Liverpool have already gathered interest for the youngter.
