Having made further contact with Leicester City over Mohamed Salah replacement Riyad Mahrez, negotiations seem to be underway for the winger to join the Italian side.
Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool checked on Mahrez, but were put off by his £50m price tag.
Roma are understood to have offered £29 million, meaning they will likely be priced out of a deal. However, the Foxes would reportedly be willing to sell the Algerian to the Serie A side for £40 million.
Leicester prefer Mahrez to join a team not from the Premier League, and the winger is understood to have already agreed personal terms with Roma sporting director Monchi after handing his club a transfer request in June.
