"The 22-year-old has agreed personal terms, undergone a medical and signed a five-year contract at King Power Stadium, subject to a work permit being granted," Leicester said in a statement.
"A Turkish international, Söyüncü made his senior debut for his national side at just 19 years old against Sweden in March 2016 and has since been capped a further 14 times.
"Last season, the defender played 30 times for SC Freiburg as his side finished 15th in the Bundesliga, reached the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal and the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League."
Soynucu comes in as Leicester look to strengthen their backline. Harry Maguire was thought to be on his way out of the King Power stadium, but looks as if he will stay with the English window now having closed.
Filip Benkovic is also making his way to the 'Foxes', giving them new options across the back.
