After their relegation to Segunda Divsión, the first decisions from Leganés come. The first, something that was already assumed from Sunday night: the exit of Javier Aguirre as manager.
In a statement in which there was no talk of dismissal or resignation, the club implied a good communication between the parties to terminate his contract, which came into effect last November, when the Mexican arrived to try and keep the side up.
"The Club wants to thank the Mexican manager for his job in the last months in which he managed to put the team just one goal away from the survival", the text from Leganés can be read.
Javier Aguirre, who was already smelling the end of his career at the end of the match against Real Madrid, leaves Butarque after achieving seven wins, ten draws and nine defeats, including the final five-game unbeaten run, something that fed the dream of salvation, but which in the end they just missed out on.
"The Club thanks Javier Aguirre for his professionalism and kindness in these months in which he took charge in a difficult situation and managed to keep it alive until the season’s last play and getting just one goal away from the survival. The Club also wishes him the best both personally and professionally in his next step", the club continued.
