Right winger Raphinha has a contract in effect with Leeds United until 2024. His impressive season personally at the English club has caught the attention of the biggest clubs, such as PSG and Barcelona amongst others.
However, Leeds have made it clear that they are not going to give Raphinha away. If someone really wants him, they will have to pay top dollar. Victor Orta, sporting director at the club, has confirmed that the player does not have a release clause written into his contract if they stay in the Premier League. If this occurs, the club who want to buy him will have to enter fierce and direct negotiations with the Leeds board.
Barcelona could go for the player. The president of the 'Azulgrana', Joan Laporta, has confirmed that they have a good deal on the table for the player.
However they know how difficult it is to negotiate with Leeds at the Camp Nou. The English club have been cold hearted in their rejections of other clubs' offers for Raphinha.
'Mundo Deportivo' reports that Chelsea wanted to bring his services to Stamford Bridge in the January window. They offered around 40 million pounds for him but this was an insufficient bid according to Leeds.
Barca will continue to monitor Raphinha closely until the end of the season. Leeds have already denied Chelsea so if the 'Azulgrana' genuinely want the player at the Camp Nou, they will have to present a better offer than the one the Blues did a few months ago.
