Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti made his debut for Lecce more than a month after signing for the Italian club and assisted Strefezza's goal against Roma.
On his return, he was asked in the press room for his feelings: "I felt wonderful emotions, I'm proud of the game I played.
"After the experience in Barcelona I needed peace and calm. Lecce is the best solution because it is also an ideal city to live in. During the summer there were other contacts, but today I feel I can confirm this choice," he added.
Umtiti himself ruled out his presence at the World Cup: "With the French national team I've written beautiful pages of my career, but for the moment I'm only thinking about doing well in this shirt.
"It's not easy to come back, but I chose to rewrite my career with Lecce and the first step is to try to stay in the Serie A," he said.
