Striker Rafael Leao is 23 years old and many European giants want to sign him. However, the only one who has the opportunity to enjoy him is AC Milan, a club that is considering renewing him.
In an interview with UEFA, Rafael Leao reviewed his professional career. "I left Sporting CP at 19 and stayed at Lille for just one season. When Milan approached me, it was a joy. I was happy, but also anxious. One of the biggest clubs in Europe wanted me. I couldn't say no, even though coming to a new club at 19 is never easy," he said.
He admitted that it was especially hard to adapt to the 'Rossoneri': "At the beginning I couldn't perform well on the pitch. I felt I couldn't handle the pressure.
But it was clear to Rafael Leao that he wanted to succeed at the San Siro and he didn't stop until he did. "I couldn't miss the opportunity to show what I was worth. The club always believed in me, they weren't going to sell me. That faith helped me to grow and improve. Now, I feel that I am important for the team and for the club," he concluded.
