Barcelona already managed a dream trident with Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. By bringing the Brazilian back and signing Lautaro, the club dreamed of setting up another magical attack. But the club is starting to realise that bringing the two together is more of a dream than a reality.
In that line, 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that the club's efforts are now more and more focused on signing the Argentinian. The reason is quite logical: bringing the Inter player on would be a lot cheaper.
The Inter player only earns about two million euros net in Milan, meaning Barça could multiply his salary by three or four and, even then, it would make him a much cheaper option than Neymar.
Negotiating with Inter Milan will not be easy, since the Italian club is not keen on letting their star promising player go. However, Barcelona is willing to pay the player's price, and the footballer himself is eager to make the move to Camp Nou, which is why Inter will not be able to do much to retain him.
Moreover, his clause is set at 111 million, a lot less than what PSG are asking for Neymar, who's age is against him too: Lautaro turns 23 this year, while Neymar just turned 28.
And although Messi already made clear that he wants his Brazilian friend to return, like Luis Suarez recently, the Argentinian superstar is also in favour of Lautaro Martinez's arrival to the club because of their already proven effective connection in Argentina's national team.
