Varane is eager to face PSG in the Champion's League. The Real Madrid player, said in a statement given to 'AFP', that "they will return as good as new" to the competition.
When speaking about the Parisian team, the Frenchman states that he expects a team that is "motivated, complete and with great players, with great quality in all the lines of the field", despite the outstanding absences of Neymar and Mbappé.
The World Champion had no problem recognising that his team was not at their best last season: "It was something inevitable due to the physical and mental effort that the previous seasons involved, with so many games, with such intensity and pressure."
"The team are always fighting to give their all", he added. In regards to the rumours about the summer transfer market that placed him away from Madrid, Varane confessed: "I need to get away from these types of rumours about my future to return again. I decided to stay in Madrid. In this club, you have to have very high expectations".
Varane also had time to talk about his coach, Zidane, who was Argentine Santiago Solari's replacement as Madrid coach: "His return is exceptional. Zidane meets the necessary conditions to manage a team".
Finally, the Frenchman referred to his his team's role in the Euro 2020. "For now, I don't want to think about this, I am focusing on my season and then, If i am there, I will do my best to win this title. I will do my best to qualify for the European Championship. The 2016 Euro's was a unique opportunity that I will never experience again, it was at a given time in my career, where it really was my aiml. It was a great disappointment to lose at home."
