Laporte puts a date on his return

Manchester City were shocked after the knee injury suffered by Aymeric Laporte at the end of August. The French centre-back had to undergo an operation a few days after and he is set to return in 2020.
The recovery process seems to be going well, at least this is what Laporte said in an interview with 'The National', during his visit to the Manchester City campus in Abu Dhabi. In the conversation, the footballer showed his satisfaction and put an approximate date on his return.
"My recovery is going well", Laporte said, who added: "I still need time, but I hope to be there as soon as possible to train and play with my team mates. I cannot say when exactly, but I believe that it will be more or less a month and a half or two months."
Laporte arrived at City from Athletic last season in the winter market, for a sum of 65 million euros, and was the protagonist during the second half of that season. With regards to Pep Guardiola, the Frenchman could do nothing but praise him.
"I feel my importance to the team. Pep has given me this confidence and I am happy," the footballer said, who stated that he believed blindly in the ability of his team to go for the titles: "I believe a lot in the team, hopefully we can do many, many good things and win many trophies, as we did last year".
