Bolivian authorities have arrested the head of the LaMia airline following the Chapecoense disaster.

The plane which was operated by the LaMia airline crashed near Medellin in Colombia due to a lack of fuel.

Bolivian authorities arrested Gustavo Vargas, the head of the company earlier today, after 71 people, including the vas majority of the Chapecoense football team died in the crash.

The plane was meant to take a break to refuel in Cobija or Bogota, but one of the survivors of the crash, Erwin Tumuri, said that the pilot of the plane dropped the initial stop to refuel.
