Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet in December in one of the most controversial Clasicos in history. The postponement due to the disturbances in Barcelona means La Liga do not agree with the process carried out to rearrange the date and will refer to the laws which they say support the league.
In a long statement, La Liga have made clear that they have taken the decision to appeal the fact it will be played on 18th December. This comes after reading in detail the Competition Committee's decision. They will appeal to the courts and the Spanish sports court.
That said, La Liga will not ask for temporary measures which means the Clasico will not move date because they believe that that "would generate more uncertainty for fans in Spain and the whole world."
There are up to five reasons why La Liga do not agree with the Committee's decision. The first is because of the date. They said that article 4.2.3 of the Spanish Federation's competition rulebook says that the game should have been played on the first available date, in other words, 4th December.
Another of La Liga's arguments is there is no law which says that the clubs have the power to set a date if the they agree to it."
