Gabriel Pires could be on the way out of Benfica. After two seasons at the Portuguese club and in very good form in the last campaign, the Brazilian midfielder is no longer a nailed on starter under Jorge Jesus.
That is what 'A Bola' says. They have published this Friday that the Portuguese club have received several offers from clubs interested in the 26 year-old midfielder. He joined from Leganes two seasons back for 10 million euros.
According to the cited media outlet, several La Liga and Premier League clubs are interested in Gabriel, who is also open to a departure if he is not going to be indispensible for the new Benfica coach.
In his two seasons at Benfica, Gabriel Pires has played 68 games and scored three goals as well as given three assists. In Spain he shone at Leganes for three seasons after a spell in Italian football.
His departure from Benfica could form part of the new squad Jorge Jesus is building since his arrival. In terms of new signings, Benfica are working on getting Edinson Cavani. He would be one of the biggest signings of the summer.
