Real Madrid had a fantastic 30 minutes against Barcelona. Benzema had given Real the lead with a lovely backheel and then Toni Kroos, one of the players most in form this season, made it two.
The German midfielder made it 2-0 at Di Stefano stadium thanks to a free-kick from the former Bayern man which beat his compatriot Ter Stegen.
Vinicius won a free-kick on the edge of the area which saw Araujo get a yellow. Modric, Benzema and Kroos were all over the ball ready to take the free-kick, but it was the German who took it in the end.
Real Madrid's '8' hit the ball with his right foot and his shot struck Sergino Dest on his side as he turned his back on the ball. The American deflected the ball and it left Ter Stegen with no chance.
The ball ended up falling nicely for Jordi Alba to head away on the line, but he could only head the ball into the back of his own net. It left Ronald Koeman's men with a tall order for the rest of the game.
