Kroos delays decision on renewing contract until next year

After Modric's renewal and the arrivals of Rudiger and Tchouameni, Real Madrid have come up against something they were not expecting. And the thing is Kroos, whose contract ends in 2023, has decided not to renew at Real Madrid up to now. 

That is what 'SER' reports as they add the footballer has shown his desire to wait until next year to decide whether he stays at the club or not. The German does not want to be a burden for the club and his plan is to wait until 2023 before deciding on his future. 

Likewise, the cited source says that this has caught Real Madrid by surprise as the club were hoping to have his new deal practically resolved this summer. Real Madrid respect his decision and they will have to wait until next year. 

Since his arrival in 2014, Kroos has become one of the main men at Real Madrid. The German has shown his quality and thanks to his work, how has achieved amazing things such as four Champions League trophies (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022). 

Ahead of next season, the German will have to fight for his place in midfield. With Camavinga and Tchouameni at the club, there will be fierce competition for a place in Ancelotti's side.
