Manchester United will have to smash their transfer record if they wish to bring in Kalidou Koulibaly from Italian side Napoli. There is a lot of interest in the Senegalese international from a whole range of top European clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea, but it is understood United view him as a number 1 target.
Napoli president, Aurelio de Laurentiis will not let him leave on the cheap and has demanded that United pay 130 million pounds, significantly more than the current world record for a defender, held by Liverpool for Virgil Van Dijk. Koulibaly has progressed into one of the most highly sought after defenders in European football since his move from Belgian side Genk in 2014.
He has made 192 appearances over 5 years, scoring 8 goals. He will be playing against English opposition in the Europa League Quarter-Finals against Arsenal in April.
