Ivorian Kone claimed his first Premier League hat-trick and also provided an assist as Everton walloped Sunderland 6-2 at Goodison Park.
Algerian Mahrez of Leicester City and Nigerian Ighalo of Watford raised their league totals to seven each this season by bagging braces in victories.
ENGLAND
AROUNA KONE (Everton)
The Ivorian striker registered his first Premier League hat-trick and created a goal for Gerard Deulofeu as Everton trounced Sunderland 6-2 at Goodison Park. Kone teed up Deulofeu's opener and then lashed home left-footed following a neat one-two with Romelu Lukaku. Sunderland hit back to level, but Everton kicked again in the second half to put the game out of sight. Kone finished coolly from James McCarthy's pass in the 62nd minute before meeting Lukaku's cross with a firm header to complete his treble.
YAYA TOURE (Manchester City)
With Norwich City having pegged Manchester City back following a blunder by England goalkeeper Joe Hart, Toure netted an 89th-minute penalty to give his side a 2-1 victory that preserved their hold on top spot. After Russell Martin was penalised for handball, having blocked a shot by Raheem Sterling with his arm, the Ivorian midfielder swept a spot-kick into the bottom-left corner to register his first league goal since the season's opening weekend.
RIYAD MAHREZ (Leicester City)
Mahrez scored a quick-fire brace of coolly-taken volleys to inspire Leicester to a 3-2 victory at West Bromwich Albion and take his tally for the season to eight goals in all competitions. The goals, scored seven minutes apart in the second half, were remarkably similar, with the Algeria winger ghosting in to convert Marc Albrighton crosses from close range on both occasions.Â
ODION IGHALO (Watford)
Nigeria striker Ighalo found the net twice at Vicarage Road as Watford beat West Ham United 2-0. He stabbed in a low cross from Nathan Ake in the 39th minute after West Ham striker Andy Carroll had dallied in possession and then curled home left-footed three minutes into the second half when Ikechi Anya's cross was missed by visiting centre-back James Tomkins. Ighalo has now scored seven goals this season, making him Watford's highest ever scorer in the Premier League.
VICTOR WANYAMA (Southampton)
Wanyama was the only Southampton player unable to properly celebrate the 2-0 win over local rivals Bournemouth after he was sent off late in the game at St Mary's. Having been booked in the first half for a foul on Adam Smith, the Kenyan midfielder needlessly slid in on Lee Tomlin in the 78th minute and was shown a second yellow card by referee Craig Pawson.
CEDRIC BAKAMBU (Villarreal)
Democratic Republic of Congo striker Bakambu registered his sixth goal in just 10 games for Villarreal with a neat finish from close range as the Yellow Submarine snapped a three-game winless streak in La Liga thanks to a 2-1 victory over Sevilla.
SOFIANE FEGHOULI (Valencia)
Algeria midfielder Feghouli scored and also won a penalty as Valencia eased their recent woes with a 3-0 win over local rivals Levante.
KHOUMA BABACAR (Fiorentina)
The Senegalese striker got on the scoresheet in the 4-1 win over Frosinone which put Fiorentina back on top in Serie A. His chipped penalty on the half hour was his team's third goal of the afternoon.
FRANCE
MAJEED WARIS (Lorient)
The Ghanaian saw red in more ways than one as he was dismissed after 43 minutes of a 2-2 draw at Guingamp. Waris, 24, was incensed after being nudged off the ball by Jimmy Briand and retaliated by scything down the Frenchman for which he received his marching orders before getting involved in an altercation with Senegalese midfielder Younousse Sankhare, who was also sent off.
BENJAMIN MOUKANDJO (Lorient)
The Cameroon striker snatched a point for Lorient in stoppage time in a 2-2 draw against Brittany rivals Guingamp. Having earlier equalised from the penalty spot at the Stade du Roudourou, Moukandjo netted his second goal of the afternoon in the 93rd minute as he headed in Raphael Guerreiro's cross.
SADIO DIALLO (Bastia)Â
The Guinea international scored the only goal of the game in Bastia's 1-0 home win over Caen. Diallo's curling free-kick on 31 minutes eluded everyone, including visiting goalkeeper Remy Vercoutre, as it nestled in the far corner to help the hosts end a run of three successive losses.
GERMANY
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Borussia Dortmund)
The Gabon striker squandered three clear chances as Dortmund cut Bayern Munich's lead at the top of the Bundesliga table with a 3-1 win at Werder Bremen. But Aubameyang remains the league's joint top scorer, alongside Bayern's Robert Lewandowski, with 13 goals in 11 matches.
ANTHONY UJAH (Werder Bremen)
The Nigeria striker claimed his fifth goal of the season with Werder Bremen's consolation in their 3-1 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund which saw them slip into the relegation places. Ujah profited when Dortmund's Germany defender Matthias Ginter cleared off the line, but the ball fell into the path of the Bremen man who enjoyed a simple tap-in from close range to make it 1-1 after 32 minutes.
SALIF SANE (Hanover 96)
The Senegal midfielder scored Hanover's winner in their 2-1 comeback victory at Hamburg. After Hamburg took an early lead, Japan midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake converted a second-half penalty, then fired in the cross from which Sane powered his header home.
