Liverpool only needed 21 minutes to increase their lead in the Champions League tie. Jurgen Klopp's side went ahead against Benfica thanks to a goal by Ibrahima Konate to move closer to the semis.
Just like in the game in Portugal, the Liverpool defender scored his team's first goal. This time, he took advantage of a cross from his teammate Tsimikas from the corner to rise high and head home.
His physical strength was too much for the Benfica defence. The Portuguese side had a mountain to climb after that, but they fought back well.
Darwin Nunez had a goal disallowed for offside just a few minutes after the goal and then Goncalo Ramos drew the Portuguese outfit level.
