Nuneaton Borough faced Stratford Town in a Southern League Central Division match, the 7th tier of English football. The home side won 2-0, but the image of the match wasn't any of the goals.
During the match, with the score at 0-0, Nuneaton got a penalty and their goalkeeper, Tony Breeden, decided to take it. What happened next is pure essence of the English lower leagues.
The goalkeeper put too much power into his penalty. So much so that the ball went over the bar into the stand, where it knocked down one of the lights in the stand above the fans. An image that has gone viral on social media, where several fans of the English club shared videos of the terrible shot.

Fortunately, the light never hit anyone and the fans laughed about it after. Their team would have another penalty in the last few minutes but on this occasion the striker, Callum Powell hit it and scored.
