Juventus would pay 180 million for... Van Dijk!

There is no doubt that Virgil Van Dijk is one of the most sought after player at the moment, and probably, the best defender in the world. The Dutchman was on the only defender that was in the top 3 finalists of the 2019 Ballon d'Or. In the final ranking, he even beat Cristiano Ronaldo. The whole of Europe praises him while Juventus could put 180 million euros on the table to convince Liverpool.
The succulent figure was revealed by the British newspaper 'The Sun' on Tuesday. If the deal reached this amount, the Dutch defender would be the 2nd most expensive player ever, only beaten by the 222 million euros that PSG paid for Neymar.
The maneuver would be in line with the last few seasons at the Italian club. And the offices of the Juventus Stadium have worked in recent seasons in the same direction. As a result, Gonzalo Higuaín arrived for 90 million euros, Matthijs de Ligt for 85 million this summer, and even Cristiano Ronaldo who cost 100 million.
If Van Dijk signs for 180 million euros, he would surpass the amount that Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire by 93 million.
This is not a trivial fact, as that operation was the highest in which a defender has been involved to date.
Nevertheless, it won't be easy for Van Dijk to leave Liverpool. Just one step away from lifting the Premier League and with the possibility of a repeat of last year's Champions League title, the Reds knows the importance of having a vital player in Klopp's squad.
This season the Dutchman has played 2970 minutes for Liverpool in 33 matches, starting all of them. Despite being a defender, he has scored 4 goals so far this season. Van Dijk is one of the most important assets for the Reds.
