Juventus are another side who have to make cuts during the corona break in order to keep stars like Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has no intention of leaving the club and the club will not get rid of him either.
Cristiano is also doing his bit in these first few weeks of football being suspended. 'TuttoSport' reports that the forward has agreed to take a pay cut of 3.8 million euros a year.
This decision has been taken and accepted by Ronaldo after a meeting with Chiellini and Buffon, the senior players in the dressing room. They are helping the Turin based side look for solutions.
According to 'ProFootballDB' data, Cristiano earns 34.7 million euros a year so his salary will drop to 30.9 million at the end of 2020 providing his salary is not altered again.
The attacker has also dug into his own pocket to help in the battle against COVID-19. In the last few hours he has donated five medical ventilators to hospitals in Madeira.
However, players from smaller clubs cannot do that so easily. For example, the goalkeeper for Serie B side Citadella mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about the possibility of taking a pay cut during the coronavirus suspension.
"We are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, who can do without his wage for two months and his situation would not change much. If we did not get our salaries, the landlord would come knocking on our door asking us for the rent," Palaeri told 'Corriere del Veneto'.
