There had been talk in recent days, but now it is official. The Spanish coach Juanma Lillo was announced by Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's new assistant.
The former Qingdao Huanghai coach will take over from Mikel Arteta who was performing that role until he became Arsenal manager.
After officially becoming Guardiola's right hand man, Lillo was very excited as can be seen by his comments published on Man City's website.
"I am delighted to have joined Manchester City’s coaching staff. My relationship with Pep goes back many years and I am thrilled to be joining him as part of this exciting team," Lillo said.
"Manchester City has enjoyed much success over recent seasons. It’s a pleasure to become a part of this group and I hope to make an important contribution to the club’s success going forwards," he added.
