Deportivo Alavés are working on the signing of Jota Peleteiro. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the board of the Spanish side have contacted the Spanish winger, who has just left Aston Villa.
It was Jota himself who announced his exit from the English side, who he had one year left on his contract with, so he will join Alavés as a free agent.
Diogo Jota left Spain in the summer of 2014 after winning promotion with Eibar. He signed for Brentford, who loaned him back to the Spanish side the year after, before returning and shining again.
After that, Jota signed for Birmingham City and then went to Aston Villa, where he hasn't had protagonism. Last season he only played 656 minutes in 14 matches and in it he hardly had 23 in the EFL Cup against Burton and Stoke.
Pablo Machín is backing the signing of the player, who they see at 29 as a good option because of his versatility, since he can play out wide and as a CAM. Talks are going well.
