The emergence of Alejandro Balde and the imminent signing of Marcos Alonso, a deal linked to Aubameyang's departure to Chelsea, had raised doubts about Jordi Alba. However, it was not he who considered leaving, but rather Barcelona who offered their player to Inter.
Inter had to pay 40% of Alba's fee, Barça the rest. Although some people thought his loan move was a done deal, the Italian side were not sure about the operation. The Catalan giants left his future in the hands of the player and it seems that the defender has already decided: he will stay at the Camp Nou, according to 'EFE'.
Alba has a contract until 2024, receives a large salary and, like the rest of the captains, has deferred payments due to the club's financial situation, but there are a couple of sporting issues to take into account that could affect him. Xavi Hernandez does not count too much on him and, if he does not play, with the World Cup in Qatar just around the corner, his participation in the tournament would be complicated.
The player's entourage, according to different sources, have expressed their dissatisfaction because they consider that Barcelona "have not played fair" by making moves to try to place Alba at Inter.
The full-back does not want to leave Barça. A meeting with Xavi Hernandez was scheduled to take place before training this afternoon, but according to different sources, it may not take place, due to the player's refusal.
