Jordi Alba set off alarms in Barcelona's medical facilities in the final stretch of this Sunday's match against Sevilla. The 31 year-old player put his hand on his right thigh and left his place on the pitch to Sergiño Dest, who played his first minutes for Barca.
The left-back's look of pain didn't bode well for the future and the club confirmed the worst through its social media: he has suffered a "muscle injury to the hamstrings of the right thigh".
Jordi Alba underwent new medical tests on Monday morning following the first set of tests carried out after the draw with the Sevilla. Barca confirmed that he'll be out of action indefinitely.
Barca, in the message on its social media pages, confirms that "how events unfold will determine his availability", that is to say, they have given no estimate for how long he'll be out.
Nevertheless, the ex-Valencia player points out that he will be away from the team for several weeks and is in serious doubt for the first 'Clásico' of the season, which will be played on October 25th in Real Madrid's visit to Camp Nou.
