James out for 'several weeks' due to knee injury

James Rodriguez faces several weeks on the sidelines after Bayern Munich announced the midfielder has a knee injury.

The Colombian has been in excellent form for Bayern Munich this season; scoring 3 goals in 8 appearances in the Bundesliga, as well as a further 2 goals in the Champions League. 

Bayern have been struggling as of late; in the wake of the 'Der Klassiker' defeat to rivals Borussia Dortmund, Bayern now sit seven points adrift of the Westfalenstadion side at the top of the table. 

German giants Bayern have been shipping too manygoals recently; they have the worse defensive record in Europe, and therefore loss of one of their most prominent midfielders will only increase the pressure on the back four.

The Bavarian side announced on Wednesday morning that Rodriguez had suffered a partial tear in the ligaments of his left knee, and will now face considerable time on the sidelines.
