'It wouldn't have been good business for Bayern to sign Cristiano'

Cristiano Ronaldo's move has been one of the biggest in European football in recent years. The Portuguese left Real Madrid for Juventus who were the only club to have approached to sign him.

It is obvious that the biggest clubs in the world discussed the possibility of bring in the Ballon D'Or holder once they leanred that he was considering leaving the Spanish capital.

Even though he is in excellent physical condiiton and had an excellent season with Madrd, his age could have been too much of a risk for football's biggest teams to sign him.

Bayern Munich have revealed that although they considered a move, it would not have been worth bringing Ronaldo to Bavaria, even from a commercial point of view.

"It wouldn't have worked. Maybe at other clubs but here we don't believe that any player's brand is bigger than the club's status," Wacker explained.

He didn't stop there, and added that "he is now at Juventus instead of Bayern, but there is a chance that he could decline quickly," 'AS' quotes him as saying.
