Lille are on course to win Ligue 1 this year for the first time since 2011. The likes of Tulio de Melo were playng at the club at that time and the striker spoke to 'Marca' about that era,
"It's an unexpected success. I think Lille will be champions. They go game by game and they're winning all of them. They are wins which are worth a league title," he analysed.
On Lille's 2011 side, Tulio de Melo explained that they were an "attack minded team" which always "wanted to score goals."
"If we conceded three, we scored four. We had individual players with lots of talent which could make the difference like Hazard, Gervinho, Debuchy... This Lille side is more well balanced and more solid," he continued.
On Hazard and his rotten luck with injuries, Tulio de Melo expressed his sadness. Hazard was Lille's best player the last time they won the league.
"Hazard was very young, but you could already see he was on another level, a star. It saddens me to see him out injured so much because he could be the main man at Real Madrid like he was at Lille and Chelsea," Tulio de Melo concluded.
