The Man Utd manager spoke out after he had heard that 'All or Nothing' documentary had criticised his team's style of play when describing a match between the two teams last season.
"You don't need to be disrespectful to have a fantastic movie. My first reaction is if you are a rich club you can buy top players, you cannot buy class" the Portuguese manager said of the documentary.
This swipe at his Manchester rivals should not be a surprrise for those who have beome used to Jose Mourinho's spats with other teams over the years, and Souness believes that that is exactly why the Portuguese is in no positioin to complain.
"I don't think it's right that City have dragged up interviews with Jose and De Bruyne, obviously that was a mistake. Every manager makes a mistake in selling a player that shouldn't be sold, it comes back to bite them." the former Newcastle manager said.
"But it's rich that he is talking about class, I am specifically thinking of some of the spats with Arsene Wenger, that wasn't very classy."
