"It's an honour": Huijsen responds to Real Madrid interest

Dean Huijsen, Bournemouth's 19-year-old defensive sensation, has spoken out about the growing interest from Real Madrid, describing it as "an honour" to be linked with the La Liga powerhouse.
The Spanish Under-21 international, who has been a revelation in the Premier League this season, told Relevo, "It's special for sure," when asked about Madrid's reported interest.
After joining the Cherries last summer, Huijsen's remarkable performances have not only drawn the attention of major clubs but also resulted in a call-up to the Spanish national team.
The young centre-back also revealed his admiration for Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos, claiming, "My idol is Sergio Ramos, he's a reference. For me, he's the best CB in history. He has everything, he's a legend".
Huijsen's potential move to Madrid has been fuelled by the confirmation of a £50 million release clause in his Bournemouth contract, set to become active in the summer of 2025.
As Los Blancos search for defensive reinforcements to replace players of the David Alaba and Eder Militao era, this clause has put a number of major clubs on notice, with Real Madrid leading the race to sign the defender.
Huijsen is a desirable prospect for the Spanish powerhouses due to his youthfulness, skill, and affordable buyout clause.
