The stadium, in the most poplous city in Turkey, will once again play host to a Champions League final, as it was designated as the venue for the final of the 2020 edition of the tournament.
After this year's final in Kiev, and next year's in Madrid, Istanbul will host their second UCL final, having bared witness to one of the best European finals of all time.
The famous 3-3 between Liverpool and AC Milan took place in the Ataturk back in 2005, and fans will hope to witness a game of similar calibre in two years time. UEFA made the decision after an executive committee meeting in Kiev, where Liverpool and Real Madrid will face off on Saturday.

The Ataturk has a capacity of 76,000, and saw off competition from the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon for the right to host final.
The 2020 Europa League final will take place in Gdansk, Poland, while the Super Cup will be held in Porto, at Estadio do Dragao.
The women's Champions League final will be hosted by the Austria Arena in Vienna.
