Real Madrid took a beating at Mestalla against a Valencia that, despite having lost all its stars, had the courage to come back from the initial Real Madrid goal.
One of the players who didn't measure up on the white side was a returning Isco Alarcón. Zidane seems to have shoehorned the player into the eleven and Isco was lost in a position that is not his.
Pedja Mijatovic, a Madrid legend, took the blame away from the midfielder and asked him to correct Zidane's decision.
"The players have to correct the coaches. If you don't put me in a position where I can't bring something positive to my team, I'd rather you put a teammate in," said the Montenegrin.
"The players know well what physical condition they are in and what they can give in each position. Isco perhaps has not been very sincere with himself, but in these conditions you have to say to the trainer: 'I want to play, but in this position I do not contribute anything', concluded Mijatovic.
