Isak returns to training as Newcastle hold firm on Liverpool links

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the 25-year-old forward and are said to have tabled a staggering €138 million bid. Despite the player's apparent desire to make the switch to Anfield, Newcastle remain firm in their stance: Isak is not for sale.
Speaking to the press, Howe delivered a pointed message aimed at reinforcing discipline and team ethics within his squad, perhaps with Isak in mind: "You have to earn the right to train with us. We are Newcastle United. Every player here has a responsibility to be part of the team and the group.
"You have to behave correctly. We will make sure that everyone does so to earn their place. No one should expect to act out and still train as usual."
The manager's remarks underline growing tension around Isak's situation, which remains unresolved. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the player is set to meet with club officials this week to clarify his future.
Whether Liverpool will return with an improved offer or whether Isak can reintegrate at St James' Park remains to be seen.
