Koeman's era started with a thrashing over Villarreal and Ansu Fati on fire. The winger keeps on scoring, but the Barcelona coach needs a striker and that is what he said post game.
"It's always good to have another striker to have another option up front. But you can play without a number 9 up front," Koeman said. He had already timidity admitted that everything would depend on the club's financial situation, but he wants another reinforcement.
'Deportes Cuatro', explains that the Barcelona board are waiting intensely on the arrival of a striker and the priorities remain the same, Lautaro Martinez and Memphis Depay.
It happens to be that getting the Inter striker is pretty much out of the question and the last formal offer from Barca was not even listened to by Inter. Depay has been specifically requested by Koeman, but there is also the option of Aleksander Isak.
According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the Swede for Real Sociedad is really liked by the club. He is just 21, has a great physique, speed and agility with the ball at his feet. Qualtiies which have him on Barcelona's agenda.
Apparently, Isak is a recommendation from Henrik Larsson. He knows his compatriot very well and his qualities. The question is the usual one: money.
Real Sociedad regard him as one of their stars and his buyout clause is 70 million euros. Real Sociedad may be interested in a Barca player which would help reduce Izak's price, but the Basques will not let him go if there is not a big offer on the table. That is difficult for Barca despite selling Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo and Luis Suarez.
