Is this going to be the busiest transfer window in living memory?

Due to the rising prices that are hitting football, each transfer window becomes more ambitious and expensive than the previous one. But the one preceding the 2019-20 season could be memorable due to a combination of various factors. 

Especially, the intentions of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The Bavarians, who fell at the last 16 stage for the first time in eight years and are level on points with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga, have already announced they will make a big investment.  Because it is time to forget the problems of the past and because there is a need to freshen up the squad which will suffer important absences, like Robben and Ribery. 

To start with, Pavard has already been signed (35 million euros) and Lucas Hernandez's signing is at an advanced phase. With the option of buying James Rodriguez also on the table, the German side already look ambitious. Uli Hoeness could spend up to another 200 million euros in a bid to rebuild his side from scratch. 

Return to the throne

For Real Madrid, they lost the possibility of winning La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey in just one week. That brought a run of Real Madrid dominance to an end, something which Florentino Perez wants to restore as soon as possible. That is why he brought back Zidane and major transfers are expected. 

Eden Hazard, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe... the players who they are looking to buy are not exactly easy to get. A new 'galactico' (superstar) is on the way. Furthermore, they have already set the bar high: 50 million euros was paid for Eder Militao a good player for the future, but he has yet to make his mark at the highest level. Regarding PSG, although they are more interested in sorting out their Financial Fair Play issues, the second consecutive failure in the Champions League means they will have to go shopping so that the PSG faithful believe they can finally go all the way. 

Manchester United are forced into trying to bring new players to the club which reinforce their change in fortunes since Solskjaer has taken over managerial duties and Juventus have not hidden desire to add another top player like Mbappe to accompany Cristiano Ronaldo up front and to increase their Champions League hopes. 

It also remains to be seen what Barcelona will do apart from the 75 million euros spent on De Jong, or what Manchester City, regulars in the transfer market, will spend their money on, it is worth remembering that there are also young promises for the future that will cost the teams who buy them a fair amount of money such as De Ligt, Luka Jovic, Pepe and Joao Felix.

On the other hand, there are also players who have already made a name for themselves who may look for pastures new and leave a fair amount of money in their clubs' coffers. This list includes players like Coutinho, Bale, Pogba, Dybala, Eriksen and Koulibaly, for example. It is going to be exciting!
